Choosing the correct supplier of equestrian and ménage riding surfaces is paramount to the safety of both horse and rider. There are a number of tyre recycling companies in the UK claiming to offer equestrian and ménage riding surfaces with inadequate shredding facilities which can leave a potentially high contamination rate of tyre wire within the tyre chip you are purchasing.
SITR Equestrian and Ménage riding surface
In 2008 SITR installed and commissioned the latest in tyre shredding technology, allowing us to offer a suite of products to both the consumer and commercial market place.

All of our products go through rigorous quality control processes prior to leaving our Cheshire based facility ensuring that products are free from contamination.

Why use a recycled product and not a new synthetic material?
We are all responsible for ensuring that as much product manufactured throughout the world is recycled, this is a major area of focus for the environment agency. Throughout the year an average of 38 million vehicle tyres are disposed and this continues to be a huge problem. SITR are one of the most experienced recycling companies in the UK having found and built one of the most successful document and paper recycling services in the UK. SITR electronic waste disposal services arm (including computers and other electrical based items) currently run's a nationwide service and is contracted to some of the largest commercial companies and charities in the UK.

SITR Equestrian and Ménage riding surface
SITR Equestrian and Ménage riding surface goes through the following process ensuring total satisfaction and more importantly total safety:

3 separate “shredding” process, starting at ‘complete tyre’
Following each "shred" all rubber goes through a state of the art magnetic extraction process.
Once we have shredded the full tyre to a 40mm and then on to 20mm chip, it is then processed through an additional 'granulation' process.
The granulator reduces the chip further but more importantly removes 99% of tyre wire by weight.
Once the process is complete, we then store our equestrian product in 1 tonne bulk bags ready for delivery.

We are confident enough in our process and facilities that we welcome any visitor requests (subject to arranging a mutually convenient time) for a full inspection of our Cheshire facility.

All of our products are processed in Cheshire and not imported from another facility around the UK or from around the world, this allows us to be 100% confident in our equestrian product.
